Choose Your Skill
An army travels on its stomach, the saying goes. Therefore any mercenary of level 22 or above will be able to acquire the cooking expertise. After that, your decision gets a bit more complicated. Every mercenary can choose from five different expertise areas. To make your decision, simply head for the Rocheste trainer that specializes in the area you’d like to learn.
Trainer | Specialty | Items |
Caryl | Cookingl | Food-related Items (Buffs) |
Krunk | Weaponsmithing | Physical Weapons |
Nel | Sewing | Cloth Armor |
Jarlath | Goldsmithing | Magical Accessories & Weapons |
Brakis | Platesmithing | Plate Armor |
Arythen | Armorsmithing | Light & Heavy Armors |
Once you have chosen and learned your expertise, you will need to purchase the appropriate recipe book. This book contains a few starter recipes to begin honing your skills. You will also have a “proficiency” rating of 0. Your proficiency rating tells you how skilled you are at your craft. As you create items, your proficiency rating will rise. This usually happens at one point per item created but certain conditions and events may increase this. More advanced items will require a certain number of proficiency points before they can be created.
Note that if you acquire an expertise and later wish to learn a new one, you will first need to delete your existing expertise by visiting the NPC from whom you gained it. If you decide to delete your expertise, you will also lose all related skills and proficiency points. You will also need to start from scratch if you choose to pursue that expertise again in the future.
Build Your future!
Once you decide to build an item, make sure you have all the required material components. These will be listed in your recipe book. Materials may be purchased from NPC vendors, but more advanced items may require particular components that are only available by killing monsters. When you have all your materials ready, head to the dedicated crafting area in Rocheste or Colhen. Then simply click the button to create your item. Voila! You’re a craftsman! Now take your new item and go kill Fomors - or sell or give the item to someone else who can use it!
* Rocheste and Expertises will be avaliable for users of Lv.22 or above.
