Just a nice promo for the upcoming publishing rights transfer from Kakao Games to Pearl Abyss, which was announced quite a while ago.
KR server players will be able to receive a bunch of descent free stuff for going through the process of transferring their accounts from Kakao Games to Pearl Abyss.

Also for those living under the rock - Pearl Abyss is the developer of Black Desert right from its start. Kakao Games is a current publisher of KR Black Desert server. Transfer is scheduled to happen between 2019.05.29 10:00 KR server time - 2019.05.30 00:00 KR server time.

So pretty much same thing as with Ru version when it was transfered from GameNet to PA :) albeit this one seems with less drama.

KR server was sort of a beta-testing playground from the very beginning, so players there are used to PA anyway, more so than in any other server, not even to mention the events and bonuses for a small transfer inconvenience.

What drama was with RU version? Is there something we should worry about in KR?

Not really, at least not for now, that said - we might see some positive or negative changes in the long run. As I've mentioned in my previous post - PA was already heavily involved in KR server, so this change should be the least noticeable for all of the publishing rights takeovers in the past and in the future. Maybe the physical server change will be noticeable, but I wouldn't be surprised if the new servers are in the same datacenter or even the very same servers *lol*

As for the RU server drama, well...it has multiple parts to it:
  1. I might be wrong on this one, but as far as I know - majority of the RU BDO community aren't very happy with what devs (PA) are doing with the game, so when Pearl Abyss decided to take over RU publishing rights it went into the drama right away, but that was just the beginning.
  2. GameNet (previous RU publisher) decided to cash in on this rights transfer, and held BDO RU accounts and data related to them as the hostages. After failing the negotiations on the accounts and related data transfer, PA decided to make a fresh BDO RU start (aka full wipe). After a huge backlash from RU community, Pearl Abyss & GameNet managed to agree on everything, and this part of the drama ended in players favor.
You can read this part of the drama in details OVER THERE.
To this day we don't know what Pearl Abyss has agreed on, but I would not be surprised if in the end they decided to take greater monetary loss than they expected, just to save the face of the company, and it will take a while to regain that money back from the RU server, which would explain the 3rd part.
  3. Crappy servers somewhere in EU. Can't recall right now where exactly in EU are the new servers located, but obviously it impacted those RU players living on the east, just by the distance itself (latency). Apart from the distance the servers seems to be unable to handle peak hours and are lagging during those times, add that up to increased latency and apparently awkward/slow support (there is direct support by PA and offloaded support by 4game, and there are 2 clients <PA & 4game> to further complicate things). Basically BDO RU community is not extremely happy with the change as of now.
